Qdos measures your digital status

Posted on 12/12/2007

On qdos.com, entering your personal information, you can get an indexing of your online presence. The higher your code, the higher your digital presence.

A study has shown that Brits check out the digital status of a person before choosing him/her as a partner. This new service, offered by Garlik, a company which specializes in data protection on the internet, has become the successor of “ego-surfing”.

It used to be all the rage to count the number of times you showed up on the internet, but today the latest trend to count your “qdos”. Once you’ve entered your name and code, this website gives you a ranking in terms of your online presence.

According to the amount of blogging, chatting, shopping and banking you do online, you can change your status. The higher your ranking the more digital you are.

According to Garlik, 16% of Brits check out the ranking of their new neighbour before moving in next door; 20% look up their future boss before accepting a new job; and 12% check the ranking of their current or future partner.
