Posted on 11/12/2007

Among the executives of big companies of Silicon Valley, the female presence is very low.
Only 7.3% of the 94 large public firms headquartered in Silicon Valley have a woman on the board of directors. Also, only 9.1% of them have a woman in a top executive position. In 33 firms there aren’t women in the board of directors nor in a senior executive position.

In Hewlett-Packard, on the contrary, a quarter of top managers positions are filled by women. Kypon, eBay, Cisco Systems have four women amongst their executives.

The study was conducted by the University of California at Davis Graduate School of Management.
However, just a few technological brands have women in top executive positions.
